Quick & Easy Ladies Ballet Slippers

These Ballet style slippers re so quick and easy to make. I used Twilight double Knitting yarn and size 4.5mm hook (uk) size.
This pattern can be adapted to any size foot, i just chain enough for the length of the foot and add 3 chain for the first hdc...

Chain 26
Row 1 hdc in 3rd chain from hook, hdc in each chain to end.
Row 2-16 chain 2 hdc in each stitch to end. Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Finishing

You will have a rectangular piece, gather the toe by weaving the yarn in and out along the top of the width of your work. Fold the piece in half lengthwise and pull the yarn tight so the toe is gathered. Stitch along for about half an inch to the other end of the
slipper fasten off

Stitch up the heel and fasten off.

Chain 80 and thread around the edge of the slipper for the tie....

  1. Hi Chantelle. I also live in the UK and have crocheted for many years, but since becoming a grandmother I too have found an extra passion for it. Have you tried your pattern with any other double knitting yarn? I have such a huge stash I though I'd make some for christmas presents but didn't particularly want to go out and buy extra yarn.
